Our student interns take responsibility by learning Israel advocacy and video skills including: script writing, video editing, style, marketing and so much more…
In the summer of 2013, James was recruited from Toronto Fellowships. He had neither video nor Israel advocacy skills. He worked hard, grew and was exceptionally helpful to other students.
We were so impressed with his leadership and desire that we invited him back in 2014 as a Senior Intern to help other students with their videos in addition to making his own.
Hali is one of our most enthusiastic and dedicated interns, having participated in many Israel advocacy programs including: Hasbara, ZOA, CAMERA, The David Project, and others. She used her love for Israel and her vast knowledge of the Arab-Israeli conflict to make five fantastic videos during her internship with us.

"I study communications and think social media is very important today. That is why I chose Video Activism. We have a lot of anti-Semitism on campus and there aren’t so many ways to fight it. I chose Video Activism because I feel that there is a need to educate Jews and the general public about the situation in the Middle East."

Senior Intern, Leadership Program Member
Sarah was recruited from Toronto Fellowships in the summer of 2014. She aspires to be a journalist and immensely enjoyed being the voice of several of our videos.
Sarah extended her internship with Video Activism twice, staying in Israel for a total of 3 months. She gained a true love for Israel and the Jewish nation, and hopes to move to Israel in the near future.

"This internship experience was great for me because it gave me the chance to pick up video production skills and learn different programs. While doing so, I had the chance to gain a better understanding and appreciation of Israel. I also got a chance to work and meet with some other like-minded interns, which only adds to the incentive to join Video Activism."

"I’m sick and tired of hearing all of the negative hyperbole in the media about Israel. I wanted to educate myself more and make Videos that could really make a difference. I’m now going back to my campus and I will mediate a seminar based on the online Video Activism classes for Jewish groups. I’m very excited to educate others with everything I learned while at my internship.”

Alon found our organization through one of our other interns. He was so interested by our work, that he continued to pop in quite frequently until we decided he should become an official intern in the office.
Alon's first video was a hit, reaching over 10,000 views on YouTube in a matter of days.

"I had many great experiences working at Video Activism. It connected me to Israel and my own Judaism more than I thought it would have. I now understand the importance of Israel advocacy in the media and I gained the knowledge and confidence to defend and support Israel in the future."

Yoni joined our internship for six weeks in the summer of 2014. He came with some previous video editing skills, and he decided to bring a whole new subject to Video Activism: humor.
Yoni's most successful video was a parody of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh giving a speech to the Palestinian people.

This summer I had the amazing opportunity to travel to Israel with a Birthright trip. It was such an incredible experience that I knew I had to extend my time and stay in Israel for a couple more weeks. Video Activism was a perfect fit for me. Not only did Video Activism help me practice my video editing and script writing skills, but it broadened my knowledge of current events and Israel advocacy. After returning home, I have continued to do research on Israel and the Middle East and find it very important to stay fully updated and aware about what is going on in the world, especially in Israel.
